PET Bowl Lids Manufactured at Our Hubei Thermoforming Base
As one of the Disposable PET Bowl Lid Manufacturers in China, Hubei Kipoer Plastic Packaging Co., Ltd. moulds high-transparency PET lids that close kraft paper bowls, paper salad bowls and PP bowls. Production runs on fully automatic vacuum forming lines at our Xiaogan base in Hubei Province, using PET and PP sheet extruded in the same plant.
A bowl lid carries the portion, protects the food surface and lets the customer see what has been packed. We build our lids for salad bars, porridge and soup service, rice bowls and delivery meal sets, where a clean, spill-resistant closure and a clear view of the contents matter more than decoration.
Our Disposable PET Bowl Lid Range
Two moulded formats cover most takeaway bowl programmes, and both can be adapted to a customer's own bowl geometry.
XGL-165T Round Sealed Lid
165 mm round lid in high-transparency PET with a fresh-protecting sealed rim, matched to round paper and kraft bowls used for soup, porridge, salad and rice service.
XGL-1000 Square Lid
Square PET lid engineered for the 1000 ml paper bowl footprint, used for rice sets, grain bowls and delivery combinations where a square pack stacks more efficiently.
| Lid Format | Bowl Interface | Typical Food Applications | Configuration Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| XGL-165T round sealed lid | 165 mm round paper or kraft bowl rim | Soups, porridge, salads, rice bowls | High-transparency PET, sealed rim, fresh-protecting closure |
| XGL-1000 square lid | 1000 ml square paper bowl | Rice sets, grain bowls, delivery combos | High-transparency PET, snap-fit square footprint |
| Custom round lids | Rim diameter taken from the customer's bowl | Salad bars, soup, dessert bowls | Mould built from sample or drawing; thickness, colour and anti-fog options |
| Custom square or rectangular lids | Footprint and corner radius from the bowl | Meal sets, bento, catering trays | Snap-fit or sealed rim; laminating and anti-static on request |
Material, Transparency and Closure Behaviour
PET gives the lid its glass-clear appearance, so the food surface and portion size stay visible after packing. The snap-fit rim is formed to the bowl's rim profile, which keeps the lid seated during transport and limits leakage and flavour transfer between stacked items.
- Clear PET body for product visibility and shelf presentation
- Snap-fit or sealed rim geometry matched to the bowl rim
- Wall thickness selected against the lid diameter and the load it carries
- Anti-fog treatment available where hot, moist food would otherwise cloud the lid
- Colour matching and laminating available for branded programmes
Application Fit Across Food Service
Round lids suit soup, congee, noodle and salad bowls where the bowl rim is circular and the lid must seal against liquid movement. Square lids suit rice sets, grain bowls and multi-component delivery meals, where the pack is boxed and stacked rather than carried by hand.
The same lid family sits alongside our Disposable PET Cup Lid and Disposable PP Cup Lid formats, so a beverage and a bowl programme can be sourced from one supplier with consistent material and packing standards. The wider Disposable Plastic Cups & Lids & Accessories range covers cups, lids and matching accessories for the same service counters.
Configuration Options and Custom Moulds
Customisation is our core business. Our mould workshop builds tooling from physical bowl samples, product drawings or size requirements, and our R&D team adjusts the process for appearance, thickness, colour matching, anti-fog, anti-static and laminating.
For a new bowl, the practical route is to send the bowl itself. We measure the rim, confirm the undercut that the lid must grip, and return a lid drawing for approval before tooling is cut.
Production Capacity, Cleanroom and Quality Control
Kipoer was founded in August 2015 with a total investment of USD 30 million and operates a 50,000 m² site with more than 400 employees. Sixteen fully automatic high-speed vacuum forming lines, in-house mould processing equipment and a Class 100,000 food dust-free cleanroom support an annual vacuum forming capacity above 30,000 tons, with monthly output around 2,000 tons.
Quality control follows an ISO-based system across the whole process:
- Raw material checked for food contact compliance before warehousing
- Dust-free, controlled production with in-line inspection at each process step
- Finished lids sampled for dimensions, sealing, temperature resistance and odour
- In-house laboratory with temperature resistance chambers, sealing testers and thickness testers
- Third-party food contact test reports issued for supplied batches
Filling Line Integration, Packing and Delivery Scope
Lids are nested and stacked for denesting at the filling station, and we confirm the stack height and carton count against the customer's magazine or lid-placing equipment. Where a line applies lids automatically, the lid rim and the bowl rim must be dimensionally consistent batch to batch, which is why dimensional sampling is part of our finished-goods check.
Standard packing is nested lids in export cartons, with carton marking, labelling and pallet configuration agreed at order stage. Small trial batches and long-term volume orders both run through the same lines, and capacity is held in reserve for peak-season scheduling.
Information We Use to Configure Your Solution
| Project Input | How We Use It |
|---|---|
| Bowl type, rim diameter or footprint | Selects a stock lid or defines the mould cavity |
| Bowl material: kraft paper, paper salad bowl or PP | Sets the rim grip and closure type |
| Fill temperature and food type | Confirms material grade and anti-fog requirement |
| Closure method: hand-press or automated | Drives rim tolerance and nesting height |
| Transparency, colour and branding | Determines sheet grade, colour matching and laminating |
| Annual volume and seasonality | Plans tooling, batch size and peak-season capacity |
| Carton marking, pallet format and destination | Defines packing, labelling and shipping documentation |
Frequently Asked Questions
Can you supply lids for our existing bowl rather than a standard size?
Yes. Send the bowl sample or a drawing with the rim diameter, footprint and corner radius. We measure the rim, prepare a lid drawing for approval and cut the mould in our own mould workshop.
Are the lids suitable for hot soup and porridge?
The XGL-165T round lid is used for soup, porridge and rice bowl service. During configuration we check the fill temperature and the closure method against the PET grade, and finished lids are sampled for temperature resistance in our laboratory. Anti-fog treatment is available where steam would cloud the lid.
What production capacity is available for large bowl lid programmes?
Sixteen fully automatic high-speed vacuum forming lines and a Class 100,000 cleanroom support annual vacuum forming capacity above 30,000 tons, with monthly output around 2,000 tons. Small trial batches and large long-term orders both run on the same lines, with capacity held for peak-season scheduling.
What food contact documentation do you provide?
Raw materials are checked for food contact compliance before warehousing, and third-party food contact test reports are issued for supplied batches. Reports are prepared against the destination market requirements confirmed at order stage.
Can lids be produced in a specific colour or with special surface treatment?
Yes. We support appearance adjustment, thickness changes, colour matching, anti-fog, anti-static and laminating as part of the mould and process configuration.
How are the lids packed for export?
Lids are nested and stacked in export cartons, with carton marking, labelling and pallet configuration agreed before production. Nesting height and carton count are confirmed against your denesting or lid-placing equipment.
